Let’s capture those feel-good, honey sweet moments.

About Me

Hi, I’m Ashley!

I live in Grande Prairie with my husband, Bryce, and our two beloved Labradors, Sven & Bjorn. If you look closely at my family photo, I’m the one sitting next to the breathtakingly handsome look-alike of Goose from Top Gun (he doesn’t want me to say that in my bio and keeps asking me to remove it, but I think it’s funny).

The past few years, I really struggled to figure out what path to take. I graduated from the university of Alberta with a degree in Education, taught for a couple of years and loved it, quit and subbed for a year, worked a night job, covered a maternity leave teaching kindergarten, and eventually accepted a full time job teaching grade 1 - which leads us to today. At one point along the way, I also thought I’d give it a go at being a children’s book author on the side. More than anything, I knew that I loved making kids smile, and I enjoyed working in the comfort of my own home.

But two years ago when I sat down at my computer to start writing… I found out that I didn’t want to write at all - it turns out, the appeal of it all wasn’t the writing; it was the storytelling. It was being able to paint a vivid picture in my mind and wanting to share that picture with others. I realized very quickly that I wanted to be a visual artist. Someone who paints with light and digital enhancements instead of paint and a paintbrush.

While I don’t necessarily have a “specialty,” I do know that I gravitate towards capturing families, couples, and children. I love bold, eye-catching colours so that the picture isn’t just a picture, it’s a piece of art. Seeing faces, interactions, and love on my screen fills me with a joy like no other and gives me purpose. My absolute favourite part of what I do is sitting at my computer, racing to see the best shots, editing as quickly as possible, and then sending sneak peeks back to the family. I love showing people what I see and getting to be a part of their story for just a little while.

I think pictures remind us to cherish the people around us and relish precious moments. Sometimes you don’t realize just how special a photograph can be.

“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”
